The 7 Directions is Paul Gabor-Iliescu’s perspective on the connections between different aspects of life, introduced through “Engineering Holistics”. It invites questions, discernment and guided exploration.

Behind the map are people, with questions of their own. You are welcome to bring curiosity, uncertainty, or a perspective different from ours. A useful conversation begins when there is room to listen.

Paul and Roxana are your points of contact for exploring the project and discussing suitable guidance. They can help you find practitioners they have vetted and recommended. Relevant qualifications, availability, conditions and the limits of each service are clarified individually before any collaboration.

A map is a beginning

Reading introduces a language for a conversation. It does not qualify anyone to diagnose, treat or apply methods independently. There is room for study, uncertainty, support and respect for each person’s pace.

I wrote the book I would have needed.

This map grew from a time when I was looking for understanding, support and ways forward. I gathered questions, experiences and things I learnt from others. The introductory book tells that story.

Think of a navigator: we start by finding where we are. Then we look at where we want to go, the choices we have and who can help us make sense of the route.

My invitation is to stay curious, learn with discernment and leave room for what you do not know yet.

What don’t I know yet?

You can read a book and recognise every word. There is still more to understand, and people to learn from. The mirror in this illustration invites us to notice the distance between the image we have of ourselves and what we can actually do.
